North west commercial law firm Taylors have
advised Blackburn-based furniture manufacturer Atkinson Vari-Tech on
a major seven-figure investment.
The £1.2 million investment from venture capitalist YFM
Private Equity will be used to expand the business. Atkinson Vari-Tech,
which was established more than 30 years ago and today employs 110
people, produces art, design & technology, food technology, ICT,
science and general classroom furniture.
YFM’s investment manager, Deborah Heyes, said the firm decided to
back Atkinson Vari-Tech due to it’s dedicated and market-focused
approach in a growing market.
“There is no doubt a massive opportunity in this sector and Vari-Tech
has laid the ground work to lead developments in a substantial way,”
she added. “Management’s experience and product range are second to
none and there are definitely exciting times ahead.”
Atkinson Vari-Tech was advised by the Business Deals team at north
west leading commercial law firm Taylors and the team was led by
corporate partner Adrian Leslie, who said:
