Claire Barnes Partner
Role: Disputes Partner and Head of the Regulatory Investigations and Prosecutions Unit
Claire is a very experienced commercial trading disputes
lawyer employing her wealth of tactical and negotiation
experience to avoid the courts where possible. She has
considerable expertise in alternate dispute resolution and
manages a range of international commercial disputes
involving a variety of jurisdictions.
Claire has an approachable manner and adopts a pragmatic
and straightforward approach to achieve a swift conclusion
and within budget. Her main areas of work are the
prosecution and defence of commercial claims, including
breach of commercial contracts and shareholder disputes, as
well as advising on Trading Standards issues including
product recall.
Experience
A graduate of Birmingham City University and holding a
masters degree in International Trade and Finance Law from
London University (QMW), Claire was a partner in a
Manchester City Centre law firm for several years before
joining Taylors. Whilst her specialism is in handling regulatory matters, her extensive disputes experience includes:

- Fraudulent misrepresentation

Profile
Blackburn born and bred Claire continues to live in her hometown with her husband and two sons. Her main interests, apart from being a devout Blackburn Rovers fan and season ticket holder, ( including watching both of her sons play football for the Rovers) and listening to any form of live music, preferably at festivals and on the basis of the louder the better.
